During our recent Easter getaway, my husband, our two dogs, and I found refuge at the enchanting Château des Fontaines in Canet d'Aude. Nestled within stunning gardens that stretch over a hectare, it provided the serene escape we desperately needed from our busy London lives. The breathtaking architecture greeted us like a warm hug, and I must say, the beautiful furnishings — including the stunning mirrors — added a touch of timeless elegance that truly resonated with us. While we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, we could have wished for a bit more variety than just simple coffee from that charming pot. Nevertheless, it was served in a delightful shared lounge that allowed for a relaxed morning ambiance. Our spacious, soundproof room, outfitted with air conditioning and traditional décor, offered both comfort and a slice of luxury, allowing us to unwind after our travels. One of the highlights was certainly the tranquil atmosphere, accentuated by the gentle sound of the fountains — a calming backdrop for our afternoon poolside relaxation. The property welcomes dogs, which made our stay even more special, as our furry friends explored the gardens while we enjoyed some downtime. Château des Fontaines is truly perfect for anyone seeking serenity, coupled with the charm and beauty akin to a royal retreat. We left recharged and with plans to return!
